SMB Re-Releases You Bet-The Pete Rose Song!

The Sam Morrison Band re-releases their Single "You Bet - The Pete Rose Song" to help bring attention to Pete Rose's official request to be reinstated into Baseball.

In 1991, Pete Rose was declared "permanently ineligible" for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame for gambling on baseball. With 4256 hits, Pete Rose still holds the record for most hits and is no doubt the “Hit King”. The question of whether or not his past sins should keep him from receiving one of Baseball’s biggest honors is one that has hardcore baseball fans divided. The Sam Morrison Band cast their vote in the affirmative by proclaiming "You Bet!"
Previous Baseball commissioners Fay Vincent and Bud Selig never considered Rose's past requests for reinstatement into baseball.
As new commissioner, Rob Manfred takes the reigns, Rose and millions of his fans are hoping that he will show leniency and lift Rose's lifetime ban.
While being reinstated into baseball would not mean that Rose would ever actually "work" in baseball again, it would be the first step on the path to the Hall of Fame.
"You Bet - the Pete Rose Song" was originally released in 2011 on the Sam Morrison Band's CD "Dig It Or Don't".
In order to show support for Rose and help bring attention to his request, the Sam Morrison Band is re-releasing the song  which is a tribute to Morrison’s childhood hero.
“I grew up in Middletown Ohio during the reign of the Big Red Machine,” says Morrison. “Pete was a big influence on me. He taught me that you can be the best if you work hard. No one worked harder than Pete Rose!”
“I absolutely believe Pete should be in the Hall of Fame. While I don’t approve of betting on baseball, no one can deny the records he has broken and still holds! I truly believe that the drive and determination that earned him the name “Charlie Hustle” on the field was also the fuel that made betting such a problem for him later in life. His “need to win” is simply part of his DNA and that drive is what made him great. Baseball is a better game because Pete Rose played it.”
The band is hoping the song as well as the video will help get the attention of Manfred and the “powers that be” in Cooperstown and let them know that there are still a huge number of fans that want to see Rose in the Hall of Fame.
The Sam Morrison Band continues to tour nationally with their brand of "100 Proof Southern Rock" and have had their music featured in film and TV.
